Product information

Keratin Care is made for use in the treatment of hoof and frog fungal infections and nail fungus. Used after washing with Herbal Soap. A very popular oil containing five different natural oils and three different herbs. The natural oils bind the essential oils to the treated object and allow the treated object to breathe.

NOTE! This oil is not intended to treat cracked, dry, or brittle hooves. The solution to that problem is balanced feeding, species-typical living conditions for the horse, limiting grazing, and weekly hoof care according to the anatomy.

Ingredients: Symphytum officinalis, salvia rosmarinus, calendula officinalis, oils: peppermint, tea tree, lavender, olive, helianthus annuus, beeswax.

When treating white line disease:

Brush the hooves completely clean, and add water and Herbal Soap to the brush. Massage into every spot and crevice of the hoof. Make sure you get a good lather. Leave it on for 2 minutes. The foot may be placed on the ground as long as the horse is standing on a clean platform. Wipe off the foam, add Keratin Care, and let it work for about 5 minutes while the horse is standing on a clean surface. The oil is left on the hooves. New treatment once a day for a week. Continue treatment daily with Keratin Care, and once/twice a week with a Herbal Soap/Keratin Care combination until the hoof is healthy.

The fungal infection should be carefully removed by trimming from the hoof before treatment. In severe cases, it is recommended to soak the hooves in a soapy solution for about 15 minutes, after which oil is added.

An oily hoof should not be put directly on the boot, because it makes the hoof slippery in the boot, and can cause the boot to turn on the foot. If you want to leave the substances working inside the boot, wrap a layer of self-adhesive bandage around the hoof.

When treating trush:

Same as white line disease. The hooves should be treated all over in both cases.

NOTE! The oil is very generous, especially when used with soap, so start with a small amount and only add more if needed. We always recommend using soap before oil, as the two products complement each other.

When treating nail fungus:

Wash your nails and toes with Herbal Soap, lather well, and let the lather work for a few minutes. Rinse off the soap, dry the toes, add a drop of Keratin Care, and rub well into the treated area.

Pioneer Herbal balms contain only natural ingredients and pure essential oils. If you or your animals are allergic to any of the ingredients, you should not use the products and check with your vet or physician.
