The main purpose of Skin Care oil is to care for the skin, it is not made to be used for insect control only.
Use Pioneer Herbal Insect Spray (coming to stores in spring 2024) for daily insect repellence.
Skin Care oil treats itching, scabs, small scratches, and abrasions caused by insect bites. The oil effectively repels insects, but the product has been developed especially for the treatment of various skin problems and for use with Herbal Soap. Horses suffering from sweet itch have received effective help from Skin Care oil and Herbal Soap.
Too many horses suffer from sweet itch. It is not the mosquito bite itself that causes the infection, but the scratching of the skin caused by itching. We made this oil from two natural oils and three herbs. Our primary purpose is to kill bacteria, but some herbs have also been added to strengthen and soothe the skin. Constant scraping and rubbing irritates the skin and weakens its regeneration. Vegetable oils do not block the skin and allow the treated area to breathe.
• Use for scabs, scratches, abrasions, and itching: Wash the area to be treated with Herbal Soap and lather well. Let the foam take effect, wipe it off, and add Skin Care oil.
• Use for insect bites in horses that do not suffer from sweet itch:
Skin Care oil should be used with Herbal Soap because they enhance each other’s effect. First, wash the area to be treated with Herbal Soap, wipe off the soap with a towel or rinse, and add Skin Care oil. The oil is not made just for insect control, but specifically for treating scabs and bumps already caused by insects on the skin, and it also effectively removes itching.
• Use for horses with sweet itch:
Wash the treated area with Herbal Soap according to the instructions.
Apply Skin Care oil evenly over the entire area to be treated. The ingredients contained in the oil act as an effective mosquito repellent against flying insects. It would be good to massage the oil slowly to enhance absorption. We recommend protecting the area. Many insects emerge as the sun rises and sets. These are the most critical moments of the day when the horse should be protected.
Repeat the treatment daily until you notice a clear improvement and you can reduce the number of treatments. Wash with Herbal Soap as needed, rinse off the largest foam from the soap. Rinse off the soap completely from time to time. Add oil as needed, about three times a week only to the problem area.
Pioneer Herbal oils contain only natural ingredients and pure essential oils. If you or your pet is allergic to any of the ingredients, stop using the product and let the skin calm down. Please contact us at hello@flexhoofboots.com in these situations.
